BIOTECHNOLOGY & MOLECULAR BIOLOGY COMPLEX Clemson's Agricultural Biotechnology & Molecular Biology Complex houses biotech research. All laboratories are fitted-out with benches, sinks, fume hoods, and standard safety equipment. The building program scope balanced with the available budget to provide an approximate 93,000 GSF building including 56,000 NSF of laboratory and laboratory support spaces. MKA, in association with HOK, created this new complex located in the area southeast of Newman Hall and directly north of the existing greenhouse site. The new greenhouses and head-houses occupy the existing greenhouse site. The building fulfilled the President's vision of campus architecture and is compatible with significant campus buildings. The building materials were a cost-effective selection with characteristics of long life span and low maintenance.
