RHODES HALL BIOMEDICAL FACILITY

This project included the construction of a 29,000 SF addition to Rhodes Hall, which has served as the home of Clemson's Bioengineering Department since its establishment in the mid nineteen-sixties.

The three-story building provides state-of-the-art undergraduate laboratories in tissue engineering, bioinstrumentation, and biomechanics, among others. It also hosts classrooms equipped with the latest long-distance learning capabilities, administrative offices, and research labs. We designed the building with communication, collaboration, and networking in mind.

The building hosts the Creative Inquiry Experience in Bioengineering, which is a university-wide program through which all undergraduates are involved in a discovery-oriented approach to learning.

MKA worked in association with Lord Aeck Sargent on this facility targeted for LEEDâ„¢ Gold Certification.
