G.B. HODGE ARENA

A focal point of the MKA architectural design for the historic G.B. Hodge Arena at USC Upstate is the installation of the unique parquet basketball court flooring, modeled after the famed and storied Boston Celtic's floorware. The comprehensive revitalization and renovation of the intercollegiate competition arena also includes enhanced site lines, new seating, lighting, the latest technological sound system and a state-of-the-art scoreboard which creates a dynamic atmosphere for competitive college athletics.

The renovation of the multi-purpose main arena also includes the enhancement and spacious remodel of women's basketball, volleyball and men's basketball locker rooms, along with the addition of a team room, media center, and expanded training facilities.

We worked closely with the athletic coaching staff and the university facilities staff to develop an interior design context that incorporates and reinforces the USCU Spartans' identity through the use of color, texture, and form.

The total design and construction of the 4.5 million dollar project was completed in less than twelve months.
