The Greek Housing Complex received LEEDâ„¢ Silver Certification through the USGBC program by meeting the following sustainable requirements:
-87% reduction in water use
-67% energy savings for existing construction (3 dorms)
-33% energy savings for new construction (2 dorms)
-82% of construction waste diverted from landfills
-access to public transportation within 1/4 mile of site
-bicycle stoarge spaces to serve 15% of residents
-maintained 75% of the existing shell (building reuse)
-14% recycled content in construction materials
-26% of construction materials were manufactured locally
-52% of wood based building materials were harvested from FSC Certified forests
-low-emitting materials specified to improve indoor environmental air quality
-Daylighting used in 75% of indoor spaces
